Ger Youth Center: Bi Mongol School
Welcome to “Ger” Youth Center!
“Ger” Youth Center is a community based, non-profit organization and it is tax exempt under section 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code. It was founded in April, 2009 by Mongolian immigrants living in the San Francisco Bay Area, who are devoted to preserving and promoting the traditional arts, culture and the heritage language among the younger generations of the Mongolian community in the United States.
Kindergarten
Age 4 to 5This class is intended to stimulate children’s curiosity to learn more about the world around them. Children learn to become comfortable working in a classroom setting and are introduced to some basic literacy and math-related skills in the midst of their important discoveries. Learn Mongolian alphabet, their sounds, awareness of building words from letters, tracing letters, memorize short poems and songs.
Mongolian language
Age 5 and upThis class is designed for children to learn the core skills of speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar in 4 different levels. Also, through these courses they obtain the basic knowledge of Mongolian history and culture.
Mongolian dance
Age 5 and upThis class offers Mongolian folk dance movements, the origin and meaning of the dances, how to dance traditional dances, stage presence, and performing guidelines on the stage etc. After 5 years students are able to dance traditional dances solo or in a group and are officially graduated.
Music
Age 12 and upThis class offers instruction on how to play traditional musical instruments such as the horse-head fiddle. Students learn how to tune and take care of the instrument, history of the instrument, how to read music notes and how to play properly, stage presence and performing guidance on the stage.

Art
Age 4 and upThis class is designed for not only children who would like to develop their artistic skills, it also provides an exposure to the arts and it helps students develop their self-esteem. It is an outlet for creative expression. Students learn to draw shapes, patterns, faces and landscapes. Other projects draw inspiration from famous Mongolian artists. They develop mastery in techniques, expressing their opinions and imaginations through art.

Enkhjin Gomboluudev, California Chess Federation State Champion
In 2018, our chess class student Enkhjin Gomboluudev won State Championship and participated in the National level, representing the state. He teacher is Chess Fide Master Ms. Uyanga Byambaa. We are very proud of our student and teachers achievents.
Public performances by Ger YouthCenter students
“GER” youth center is very proud of our students’ mesmerizing performances. Every year, our dance students are invited to perform at other community events such as Alameda County and BART Lunar New Year celebration, Berkeley Spring Festival, Alameda API Festival, OACC’s Winter and Spring Galas, Locke Foundation Harvest Festival, Chinatown Chamber of Commerce New Year Celebration, Himalayan Spring Festival, TCCSFBA New Year Gala, APA Heritage Celebration and Mongolian Naadam Festival.
